File Upload to your Webspace

To put your web pages on your web space at Datec, you need to type

ftp://youruserid@users.datec.net.pg

in the web address window of Internet Explorer or Netscape, then press enter. The browser will then ask for your id and password. When you've entered these correctly you will see a public_html folder or a symbolic link which when clicked on will give you your web space.

To upload your files (put them on your web space) you can have two windows open side by side (Windows Explorer and your web space window) and then drag and drop the files from your Windows Explorer onto your web space.

Alternately you can make use of any of the many popular FTP clients such as CuteFTP, WS FTP or Smart FTP.

Your homepage should be called index.htm all in lower case.
